Monday, Nov. 7th

Hello and good Monday to you, Giga-Friends! I hope you’re all doing well today! My plebian-ass life is going good, as expected, and I got my first plebian-ass pay check last week! Time to buy more weeb stuff, right!? . .  . After rent . . .

Now all I have to do is wait for THIS game. . . Did anyone else know they did a Kickstarter? . . . Because I didn’t. . .

Anyway, I finally found some time to finish Shantae And The Pirate’s Curse this past weekend. I know it’s been about . . .  a lot of months . . . but, get off my back! I’m SLOW! The game was super cheesy, but in all the right ways. What I love about the series is that it never takes itself too seriously and it can dole out a healthy dose of comedy now and again. I guess my only complaint about the game is that it isn’t very hard.  I did find myself mysteriously attracted to the soundtrack though. Specifically one song, Tan-Line Island, that kept running through my head. After a little searching, I found out that Jake Kaufman, the man who also did the OST for Shovel Knight, also did the soundtrack for this! Consider me a fan, Good Sir. You are truly a force to be reckoned with!

I haven’t had too much time to run about and gather more gaming info this past week. But, I did hear a bit of a rumor recently that I was too lazy to follow-up on. I heard that Fate/Extella, the new Musou-styled game, from Type-Moon was going to get an English port! This is a bit of good news for fans of the series as, other than a lot of Japanese games, the fans over here haven’t had much to suckle on lately. I’m a bit wary of the game itself, Musou/hack’n’slash games have never really been known for how innovative they are or how good their story-telling is. . . That leaves a big question mark in front of Berserk Musou as well as it needs to rebound from the abysmal anime it had recently. Either way, both will still probably be popular because of their legendary backgrounds!

I also started reading manga, for the first time in about 6 years! It’s called Tate no Yuusha no Nariagiri! It’s really good and, although the beginning is a bit cliched now, the manga is really good! If you haven’t checked it out yet, I highly suggest you do if you like manga. It’s #1 on a lot of sites already!

On a side note, after coming back to Tales Of Link, I was greeted with a new opening screen that featured SAO crossover characters. I don’t know what I did wrong, but I certainly know what SAO did wrong and why it should be punished! And not me!

 . . .  Speaking of anime. . .

NOW ON TO ANIME!

This season of anime is like The Binding of Isaac season of anime. In that, “Everything is Terrible”. EVERYTHING IS TERRIBLE!

Did I mention . . . Everything is terrible!?

Iron-Blooded Orphans is leading up to a terrible massacre, most likely. The amount of foreshadow is staggering and I’m worried that some of my favorite characters won’t make it through! Drifters showed some slavery and rape that made the main character lose his cool, so I can imagine that things won’t go so well on their ends. Shimazu Toyohisa was never famed for having a lot of patience! 3-gatsu no Lion finally went into Rei’s past where he lost EVERYTHING dear t0 him, and not a single person cared. Hell, it even hinted that he may have either been 1)Taken advantage of by a woman and left to dry or, 2) raped by said woman. Mahou Shojou Ikusei Keikaku is starting to decimate its cast one by one and the most recent was someone I hadn’t expected to die until the final moments of the anime. Not only was it sudden, it was gruesome as hell and it made me really, really sad.

Everything is terrible. EVERYTHING IS TERRIBLE!

Anyway, I hope your lives are going better now than they are in these anime! I hope you all have a great Monday and an even better week! -J.R
