Giga-Journal: Valentine’s Re-Run Monday!

Japan’s “White Day” is Tomorrow! . . .

Definitely Not Lonely! . . .

Monday, Mar. 13th

Hello again, Giga-Friends! I hope you’re doing well on this fine Monday! . . . Or at least better than my busy one!

I know we’re alone. But, together, we can be alone together!

For those of you who know a little about Japanese culture, “White Day” in Japan is coming up tomorrow! For those of you who don’t know, it’s a day for boys, who received chocolate (that part is important), to return the favor by giving chocolate to girls. . .  It’s not like I’m lonely or anything! . . Hnnng. . . Japan has weird traditions. A month seems like a long time to return chocolate. Of course, I’d have to receive chocolates first for that to be a problem for me. Which I haven’t. Ever. Not sad.

Anyway, I’m darn close to the ending of Tales of Berseria and I’ll probably be doing a write-up on it after I finish. I’ve liked it a lot more than it’s predecessor, which I’ve stated on multiple occasions, but I really hope the ending pulls through for me. I have been told that the Tales of Zestiria anime is much better than the game though, so maybe I should check it out.

  Speaking of anime. . .

KonoSuba S2 still anime of the year.

Kazuma, I’m not saying I’m jealous, but I would like to know this comfort one day. . .

I’ve recently been thinking that the characters in Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans are starting to act a bit out of character. It feels like the characters that were built up in season 1 aren’t really living up to all the hype we (read: I) gave them and it’s starting to get a little disappointing. Though, it is near the end and I’m really excited for the fight that’s going to ensue. If anything, they’ve done really well on the fights this time around.

Speaking of KonoSuba, though, it’s definitely one of the best this year already. But, I have been farting around on the internet a bit (crazy, I know) and I came across a channel called Mother’s Basement. He does some really good in-depth reviews of not just anime, but the OP and EDs about them too. He’s a pretty smart dude and he makes a lot of valid points. Plus he likes to crap all over SAO, so that makes him a winner in my book. Check out some of his videos (one below) when you get the chance, they’re definitely worth the watch.

Anyway, that’s it for me this week my Giga-Landers. I hope you have a great day and an even better week! -J.R.
