Hello again, Giga-Landers! Hope you’re having a wonderful day today! I know what day it is, believe me (I work on a military base), so I’m gonna go ahead and assume that you all do too, and you don’t need to hear me talk about it as well.
Anyway, I’ve been nose-deep in Fate/Grand Order (Japanese) recently because of the “Nero Festival” event going on right now. The great thing about this event isn’t some kind of story or intense plot that we’re used to with the Nasu-verse. No, children, this is all about the difficult fights. Pitted against some of the hardest and most well thought-out fights in the game, your job is to find a way to beat a seemingly unbeatable battle using mostly your wits, and sometimes some good equips. How does it feel to face Heracles (Hercules) in a duel to the death, but with his Eleven Labors (eleven actual lives) to deal with? What about facing Siegfried who has his dragon’s blood armor making him take 90% less damage? And those are just the EASIEST fights! It’s honestly a lot of fun thinking up different ways to attack certain obstacles but, last year, this event was the first time I felt burdened by my lack of 5* characters. Fortunately for me my luck had a quick spurt and I got a couple since then.
I, on the other hand, am just farming for medals so I can get more material to level my servants. . .
P.S for those of you who don’t read Japanese, I still highly recommend playing the English version of FGO!
NOW ON TO ANIME!
This past week of anime has been fairly intense as the season wraps up. Made in Abyss surprised me with gratuitous gorey graphic violence and one of the characters may be permanently damaged from this point onward. Honestly, it was graphic enough to make my stomach a little queasy. . . But, I’m something of a baby when it comes to stuff like that.
On the side of comedy, Gamers! has introduced an -actual- love triangle that feels believable and set in a way that it doesn’t seem forced. Until this point, I’d been rooting for the main couple, but knowing the third parties’ feelings now, my heart can’t decide who I should ship! It’s one of the worst feelings, guys, not knowing who to ship.
Finally, Princess Principal surprised us with a shocking episode ending where it’s hard to imagine some of the characters coming out unscathed after all is said and done. I’m honestly not sure what to expect in the coming episodes, but I don’t think it will be pretty for either side. Unfortunately for them, Ange seems to have a vengeful streak going on and is hyper competent at what she does, so I wouldn’t recommend making an enemy of her. . . I’m getting excited just thinking about the next episode! So many good things airing this season, and those are just my favorites! Hopefully I’ll be able to do some write-ups for them so you can pick and choose for yourselves!
Anyway, that’s it for me today Giga-Friends. I hope you have a wonderful day and an even better week! -J.R
