Seriously, Am I Going to Have to Replace Everything in This Damn Computer!?

Monday, May 4th –
Happy Star Wars Day Giga-Friends! I hope you’re all having a wonderful Star Wars inspired day and all that! If not, that’s O.K because I’m not either. . . In fact, even on social media, I haven’t seen many people hyping up about Star Wars. Makes you wonder . . . actually, no. It doesn’t.
Anyway, as the title says, I just lost the power supply in my computer. Seems like I’ve been having a lot of computer related problems lately, right? That’s O.K though, I’d go through a lot for my cute little Fluffy! I should clear up that last statement by saying I call my computer Fluffy . . . don’t judge me! Computer parts aren’t cheap, especially if your machine is on the high-end of the computing spectrum. I mainly use this guy for gaming since I’m almost always on Steam and/or Final Fantasy XIV. So, getting quality parts is usually either a hassle or, what I like to call a “diet for my wallet” in that I use a lot of money for good parts. My baby is by no means the best of the best, far from it in fact. But, getting nice things cost a pretty penny (a penny that I don’t have. . .). The nice thing is that I can repair it myself for about the same cost as sending in a system to the manufacturer. Plus, it doesn’t take a month for me to get it back! It isn’t all bad, the silver lining being that I can watch loads and loads of anime!
Speaking of anime. . .
NOW ON TO ANIME!
There are a TON of good anime this season! I’m completely blown away by how much my friends and I are watching this season. Shokugeki no Souma, Plastic Memories, DanMachi, the list goes on!
But, I want to talk about an anime I just finished that’s about two years old now, Shinsekai Yori (From the New World). Shinsekai may be one of the most original and amazing anime I’ve seen in a very very long time. Taking place in the distant future where machinery and technology are “evils of the past”, it shows how Earth has changed over the years from excessive wars and eventually an “almost apocalypse” of sorts that causes humans to change their way of thinking. Now, most humans have an ability to use their “Cantus”, or telepathic powers of sorts, from a young age and live in a society with minimal technology.
While it sounds somewhat slow, I can assure you this anime was anything but. It starts as a small mystery following the disappearance of some children due to the fairy tail monsters known as “Tainted Cats” but evolves into something so much more. It takes several leaps in years, following a young girl named Saki through adolescence all the way to adulthood. The mystery, the sci-fi feel, the suspense, the horror, and the story are all so perfectly set that it makes an anime that keeps you on the edge of your seat. It is sometimes hard to follow, and the time-skips aren’t always explained outright, but there is 100% a reason for everything that happens in this show. I highly suggest watching it if you haven’t already. If you want a suspense/horror/mystery with a solid story, you’d be hard-pressed to do better than Shinsekai Yori.
Anyway, that’s it for me this week friends! I hope you have a good Monday and an even better week!
