Giga-Journal: New Monday, New Year!

I May Be Slightly Under the Weather . . .

But That Won’t Stop Me From Wishing You a Happy New Year!

Monday, Jan. 4th

Hello again and for the first time in 2016, Giga-Landers!

I hope you had an amazing Christma-Hannu-Kawanza-New Years month! And, as the old year comes to a close, and the new one opens . . . not much changes, right? . . .

The myth, the man, the legend.

The myth, the man, the legend.

I usually see the end of the year as a time to look back on the things I’ve done, accomplished, or even failed at in this year. But, let’s be honest, there isn’t much I fail at, I’m pretty damn amazing. But, I look at it as a time to be thankful for the things I have and the friends I keep as well. The new year might not change anything, but the things we’ve experienced in the past year have an affect on us whether we realize it or not. Letting those things affect you positively, though, is up to you! For instance, I had the misfortune of watching terrible anime like Mahouka or SAO. Never again will I make that mistake again!!!

 Not sorry!

Another great hero lost to the war that was last year. Rest well, hero.

Though, in this past year we have lost much as well. The multi-talented Leonard Nimoy, the insanely creative and choreographer extraordinaire Monty Oum, the Father of Nintendo Satoru Iwata, and everyone’s favorite, Rowdy Roddie Piper. I’ve written a lot on the concept of death, but we can never truly know what lies beyond, only behind. What we should remember from these people is the positive influences they imparted on all of us, especially Rowdy, and how they made us see things differently.

The change from 2015 to 2016 might not change anything, and it might not be the beginning of a new era for you, but it is a time to evaluate and reevaluate what you learned in the past year. Let the things you’ve done, the things you’ve learned, and the things you saw change you in a positive way and let that help you grow into a better person!

As for myself, I’m thankful for the people in my life, and the people I dropped from my life (totally not a backhanded remark towards anyone), that helped me grow so much in just a year. I know I’ve got a lot to work on, but hell, I’m only a spry twenty-something! Here’s to a New Year, Giga-Friends!

NOW ON TO ANIME!

Noragami, oddly dramatic and touching at times. Dramatic enough to make you forget that it's actually considered a Shounen anime!

Since Christmas and New Years were in consecutive weeks, it’s been slow on the anime front and nothing has really been airing. But, I can say I finished Noragami – Aragoto. It ended up being a very good show that blended the shounen, action, comedy, and drama elements very well. Far from perfect as it jumps to a lot of different arcs quickly, it made me feel like I missed a few key points. But, that may be because my Shinto knowledge is somewhat lacking . . .

Anyway, if I can get over this sickness, I’ll definitely try to do a write-up on this and One Punch Man!
Anyway, that’s it for me today Giga-Friends! I hope you have a great Monday, and an awesome year!
