Giga-Journal: Newly Found “Freedom” Monday!

Anime and Video Games That I Finally Have Time To Partake In!

Monday, April 4th

Hello again my Giga-Friends! I hope you’re doing well on this fine Monday! As for me? This is my first day of “freedom” after being laid off with the rest of my co-workers! . . .  I guess a little downtime never hurt anyone. Neither did being financially responsible (phew)!

Anyway, despite being newly unemployed, I feel like I’m working more than I was before! With having to do all the extraneous stuff I usually put off at home . . . and doing taxes (finally!), I haven’t had much of a chance to sit down. But, in between all those busy moments I have had a chance try out some games I’ve been itching to play.

Ohhh~ Noooo~! Look what accidentally happened on accident!

First off, I randomly, and on a whim, and nothing else besides my brain made the decision for me, nothing below the waist, completely informed decision making was involved; bought Hypderdimension Neptunia U: Action Unleashed! A hack’n’slash game that stars all the (CPU) girls from the previous games! The kicker? Their clothes get torn off by enemies if they get hit too much. I won’t say you need a panty fetish to play this game, because I don’t, but it (might) definitely help! . . . Anyway, there isn’t much of a story as usual. The main selling points for these games is the comedy and slice-of-life interactions they can pull off. I only paid about $10 for it because of a fortunate sale, but I already feel like I’ve got my monies worth out of it just from the laughs it gave me. And, boy, did I need some laughs. The best part? The game knows that it’s a cheap attempt to get a bunch of horny nerds to buy the game and the characters make sure to point out and joke about that fact. The fourth wall never really did mean much in Gamindustri!

Secondly, I’ve been playing Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition with my good buddy, and fellow writer, David. Thanks to a new “mod” that helps localize connections so you can play with your friends, called DSCM (Dark Souls Connectivity Mod), David has been having the time of his life watching my get run over by traps and various monsters. Though, I feel I do deserve a bit of that punishment . . . he did buy the game for me over a year ago now. . .

The Winter season anime has finally ended and Spring starts anew. I haven’t had a chance to watch any of the new stuff, sadly, but I plan on making time!

"Steal"-ing a Dullahan's head is one of the many awesome plot points in KonoSuba! Comedy of the season!

If I had to pick some anime for you to watch from the previous season, I’d definitely say: Boku Dake ga Inai Machi (Drama), Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! (Comedy), Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans (Mech),  Hai to Gensou no Grimgar (Fantasy), Dagashi Kashi (Slice of Life), and Musaigen no Phantom World (. . .  Animation?).

I plan on writing some season-end reviews here as soon as I get some home-life stuff wrapped up. So stay tuned, my friends!

Anyway, that’s it for me today my Giga-Landers! I hope you have a great Monday and an even better week! -J.R
