Since, You Know, It’s Apparently National Taco Day!. . .

Hello and welcome again, my Giga-Friends! I hope you’re doing well today, on this most Joyous of days! Apparently it’s National Taco Day . . . or something! Since America needs something to celebrate each day to get over it’s crippling anxiety and depression! GO AMERICA! I can tell you I’ll be celebrating with homemade carnitas and/or chicken tacos today, with some magriatas (of course)! You know, to celebrate the holiday! Not to drown out my manly emotions or anything!
Alright, that’s enough being silly. Though, I’m 100% serious about having tacos. The great thing about living in San Diego is we have an extremely diverse group of people here. We can get authentic Mexican food any day of the week, something I completely took for granted when I visited Seattle recently. Lumpia here is a dime a dozen and, for foodies, you can’t throw a rock here without finding another amazing restaurant. Sometimes I forget how truly blessed we are to live here. Also, my endless appetite is lucky too.
Enough manly emotions about food. I’ve been trying to play God Eater Resurrection recently, since it came bundled with the second game. A few of my friends snagged it as well because, you know, multiplayer stuff. The sad part is that it seems to be geared -mostly- for multiplayer. It’s become something of a chore to play by myself as most fights take about 10-20 minutes, depending on how many monsters there are, to finish. The A.I, barring Soma, is terribly unhelpful and tend to hit me more than the large hulking monsters we’re trying to kill. So, in a sense, it’s become exclusively a multiplayer game for my friends and I. Which I guess isn’t a bad thing, it’s not like the story it too compelling or well written. Think of it as “Monster Hunter with almost a story”! Too bad it couldn’t be a little more like the anime. . .
Speaking of which. . .
NOW ON TO ANIME!
I’ve run behind just a tad on my Season End reviews so far. I just finished 91 Days and Alderamin on the Sky last night. Neither were really worth a gold medal, but the former was very poetic in its final moments. I have, however, finished my first review here, and listed my favorites and one disappointment for the season. If I can say one thing though: I really, highly suggest watching Mob Psycho 100. A lot of people crap on it because of the peculiar art-style and never give it a chance which is a shame because that’s one of it’s biggest boons. Everyone probably knows that ONE is a terrible artist even to the point where rumors are circulating that he’d never taken an art class preferring instead to bypass them for extra writing classes. But, Studio Bones does a terrific job of using his, -er . . . Unique drawings in a way that adds a lot of depth the characters’ movements and body language. I highly suggest watching at least three episodes, if you love One Punch Man, you’ll definitely like this one as well.
As for this new season, I haven’t even touched it yet! I’ve been a little busy trying to apply for jobs and doing phone intereviews, so my ADD has run me off the beaten path. But, I can say that at first glance, not much looks too interesting from the synopsis I’ve read thus far. I am excited for Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans though! That’s definitely something I’ll be keeping up with! Well, that and maybe Hibike! Euphonium.
Don’t judge me.
Anyway, that’s it for me today my Giga-Landers! I hope you have a great day and an even better week! -J.R
